Older Adult Communities

Independent Living, Continuing Care, Assisted Living, Skilled Nursing Care, and Memory Care Communities all exist in Montgomery County. There are lots of great options. What is best for you or your family member may depend on how you see your life changing over the next few years.

I have visited, toured, and met with the directors at all the communities listed below. That is no endorsement of any of the communities. I try to learn by going and seeing for myself what each community offers. I can help guide you. I can also refer you to professionals in the field of helping you select the best next place for your move. I suggest visiting the communities you have interest in at least twice during different times of the day. I suggest that you have a prepared survey and many prepared questions. If you visit more than one community, you will want a side by side comparison to look at later on. Contact me for the questionnaires that I use.

There are numerous older adult communities in the DC area. Leisure World is the largest Independent Living Montgomery County 55+ community with lots of options. I am happy to take you there on a tour of the homes and amenities. While it is a great place to live, your lifestyle and needs may warrant looking at assisted living.

I visit and network with many of the community directors to get to know them better. All of the care providers I have met and seen working do a great job in their communities. I find that it takes a special kind of person to work with older adults and especially those with extra needs. My hope and mission is to help you find the community that can make that place feel like home for you and your family.
